Okay, so I’m using this new feature on iTunes called “Genius.”  It creates a playlist for you based on any song that you pick from your collection.  For my first try, I chose “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay.  I’m not kidding you when I say that the third song Genius chose for this custom-made playlist [...]

As a lifelong fan, I have to say I am gravely disappointed that Saturday Night Live featured Sarah Palin this week.  Tina Fey’s incredible talent and wit coupled with her uncanny resemblance to Palin provided SNL with a unique opportunity over the past few weeks to create top-notch satire showing the country how utterly absurd [...]

On this fine Columbus Day, I recommend to you the book “1491: New Revelations of the Americas before Columbus” by Charles Mann.  From the Barnes & Noble website:
“In this groundbreaking work of science, history, and archaeology, Charles C. Mann radically alters our understanding of the Americas before the arrival of Columbus in 1492.
Contrary to what [...]
